About Lesson

– Energy is that force or power that enables the body to carry on the life sustaining activities.

– Energy is produced as a result of breakdown of CHO, fat and protein in the body.

– Energy is required in the body to perform the following functions :

a) Mechanical work

b) Maintain the body tissue

c) Growth

 

 

In the body the energy is available in four basic forms:

a) Chemical energy (synthesis of new compound)

b) Mechanical energy (muscle contraction)

c)Electrical energy (brain and nerve activity)

d) Thermal energy (regulation of body temperature)
