  1. Transamination:
  • It is the transfer of amino group from amino acid to α-ketoglutaric acid.
  • This reaction occurs with the help of amino transferase enzymes.

  1. Deamination :
  • Involves removal of amine group from amino acid and convert into acid.

  1. Decarboxylation:
  • It is the removal of carboxylic acid group from amino acid by the presence of decarboxylase enzyme.
