  • Theilaria spps.

b) Transmission:

  • Biting by insects

c) Sign and symptoms:

  • High fever (40-410C)
  • Inflammation of lymph node
  • Increased heart and respiratory rate
  • Anaemia
  • Labored respiration
  • Serous nasal discharge and cough
  • Mortality is high

d) Diagnosis:

  • Koch bodies ( organism in RBC and WBC)
  • ELSA test

e) Differential diagnosis:

  • Heart water
  • Babesiosis
  • Malignant catarrhal fever
