- Respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza
- Doesn’t normally infect humans
- Cause high level of illness and low death rates in pigs
b) Transmission:
- Close contact between pigs
- Droplets and discharges
c) Symptoms:
- Intestinal diarrhea
- Coughing
- Sore throat
- Lethargy
- Lack of appetite
- Sneezing
- Mucous nose/eye
- Weight loss
- Poor growth
- Pneumonia
- High fever
d) Prevention and treatment:
- Facility and heard management
- Vaccination
- Antibiotics
