About Lesson
- Protozoal disease that effects the intestinal tract.
- Characterized by hemorrhagic enteritis.
- Incubation period: 4-7 days
a) Etiology:
- Eimeria tenella
b) Symptoms:
- Sudden onset of bloody diarrhea
- Fever followed by dehydration, emaciation and death
- Comb and wattles become pale
- Death of 5th-7th day of infection
- Loss of egg production
c) Prevention:
- Isolation of animal from herd
- Prevent over crowding
- Proper management of diet
