Proteins —>Proteases –>  Polypeptides–>peptidase  —>    AA

AA (Amino Acids) are degraded by various ways:

  • Oxidative deamination

Glutamic acid + O2—–>aerobic microbes——> succinic acid + NH3 + CO2

Azotobacter,

                                   Azospirillum

  • By hydrolytic deamination

Glycine + 2H2O—–>   Micrococcus —>  Acetic acid + NH3 + CO2
