About Lesson
  • Nepal has more than 6,000 rivers. It has been estimated that rivers of Nepal along with their tributaries cover about 8,200 km in length. The Gandaki, Koshi and Karnali rivers are the three rivers systems or main watersheds with numerous feeder streams. These rivers cover about 4,500 km.

  • Three major rivers flowing from Nepal provide important life support system to thousand of people. The lakes, glaciers, river and catchments areas are all not only rich in biodiversity but are linked with long range ecological security.
